The Transporter says Thor was in a very dirty condition when they picked him up - he has been out living with the cattle. He will arrive at Ann's tomorrow afternoon. Ann has kindly offered to clean him up and will take photographs. We will post them here on his thread as soon as we have some.

Elsza, dirty condition means just dirty or skinny as wel???

Thor arrived at Ann's this afternoon. This is her message:-

"He is big and extremely beautiful. Very well looked after. Chest like a tank. We can catch him and although a little more shy than the others he certainly isnt wild. His colour is amazing, conformation excellent and we can walk around the stable and he follows us. He is big but a real eye catcher. You will love him. He's 100% better than I thought he would be. You will be very very pleased.
Ann."

I can't quite see his exact colour. It was dark when they arrived and the pictures are taken inside the stable. Ann will take more photos over the next few days and I'll post some here for you all to see.

Bambi is now cleared from his quarantine and will be going to Elsza's 11/01/2012. She is very excited. He is a lovely boy. Very kind and gentle, well handled and very pretty.

We delivered Bambi68 or Thor as he is now called to Elsza's yesterday. He was wonder ful in the horse trailer and is going to have a wonderful home next to the beach.

Hello Everyone! Thor arrived safely on Sunday afternoon. Many thanks to Ann for bringing him and putting him through quarantine. He settled down quite nicely in the front of the barn with little friends Charlie & Barney. Ann's son, Douglas, went out on a beach ride with Apollo which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Thor likes to be groomed. I spent all day with him yesterday, mainly grooming him and getting to know him better. He knows he belongs to me - you can see it in his eyes. He is a very quick learner. Yesterday I started teaching him how to move back when I go into the stable. Today he does it automatically.

This morning he had his feet done. The Farrier was very impressed with him - he was a very good boy. This afternoon he was castrated. I was going to leave him for a few weeks before doing this but the yard insists that until colts are castrated they have to stay inside. It's very unfair to keep them inside so it was better for him to be castrated sooner rather than later. Hopefully he will heal quickly then he can go out on Friday. To begin with I'll put him out with little pony Barney in a small paddock that has lots of grass for a few days. After that Thor will go in with Apollo, Charlie and Barney - his new family! I will take some pictures for you all soon. The ones I have so far are not very pretty as he was a bit sweaty on Sunday and to date his natural colour is green! The day before he left Ann's he decided he would go for a swim in her Pond. He must have been stood for a while because the algae has given him a new 'Comtois Colour'. I long for the first hot and sunny day so I can take him over to the Livery Yard and give him a warm shower and get him clean. When he left the Farmer he was very dirty. Ann and Douglas cleaned him up beautifully but then he decided to go for a swim and all their hard work was undone!

bon bref (chuis crevée alors traduc en très bref) Thor va superbien, moi j'ai vu des photos, il est grand, bien foutu, une couleur à tomber (plus "métal" que Vizir mais faut attendre le poil d'été) et très très gentil et pot de glue.

Je me suis beaucoup investi dans ce sauvetage, avec Zaberlo et Ann Crowe, et je suis absolument ravie !!!

Hello Again All.

Here are some photos taken of Thor this morning on his little exercise to a small paddock for some grazing and time out of the stable...













He does not like to go back to the barn after his exercise and grazing. He plants his feet outside the entrance and refuses to go in. Tonight I turned him around and backed him in. This is one very good reason to teach them to back-up in the first couple of days because it does help in this situation.

He goes out into the paddock with Apollo, Charlie & Barney on Saturday. It will be such a relief - for him more than me and my friend Sharon, I think.

I do not really get along very well in English ... I'm really happy that Bambi is a life as pésible! He is so beautiful! I'm also happy that the spitz go well. The crush I had for him was confirmed. I'm really happy that he live with thee. Made him big kisses from me!

Hello Everyone.

Here is an update on Thor. He now lives out with Apollo (Uranus de YoYo) and my friend's pony, Charlie. He is accepted as part of the herd and is happy with his new family. He has had his feet trimmed by the Farrier and has been vaccinated for Flu and Tetanus. He was castrated 2 weeks ago and is now fully healed.

His winter coat is coming out in wheelbarrow loads, as is Apollo's. They all had a good grooming yesterday and if our wonderful hot and sunny weather stays for the weekend they will all get a bath.

Everyone thinks he's beautiful and he is much admired by riders going to the beach. I will keep you updated and post more pictures as the weeks go by.
